A Decade of Stories & Stages 🎤📖

ree

Ten years ago this month, I stepped on the stage to tell my first story, with the support and coaching from Ivy Eisenberg and Zak Shusterman in the Prose of Pie Storytelling Series days. It was an amazing show, that popped up all over Westchester County, New York, where you got to hear stories and eat pie! So delicious!

Since that first experience, I have graced many stages across New York and Connecticut, even told a story for the Stamford Chamber of Commerce, had the honor of being president of Northeast Storytelling, and am now hosting my own open mic storytelling show—next one is March 16 at The Westport Library, Westport, Connecticut,  stay tuned for more details.

And let me be clear: storytelling is telling a story on a stage with no notes. It’s not reading, and I’m not sure why when I tell people I do storytelling, they think I’m reading a book out loud. I’m not.

There are many genres of storytelling: personal narratives (that’s what I mostly do), tall tales, historical folk tales, and more. In 2025, I want to test out other types of storytelling and also get on some new stages: virtual and in-person.

I’ll be appearing next at
