Hot Chocolate, Snowflakes, and ATV Memories ☕❄️🚜

It’s going to snow again today, which will be pretty. I did all my errands so I could stay in, drink some hot chocolate, and watch the earth turn its canvas white. But I can’t help but remember that this time last week, I was in St. Lucia for an annual sister’s trip. The weather was breezy, beautiful, and happy, with sun rays caressing my skin every so gently.

Oh, well, anyways.

We always plan our activities in advance, and since we did ATV driving in Aruba, we definitely wanted to do it again. The instructor/guide was adamant that if we did not think we could follow instructions, then we could ride with a guide.

I opted for the guide, as you heard me say in the video. While riding with the guide, he shared that it was his last day after leading the tour for six years. He’s seen people break arms and legs and that teenagers don’t listen. He once had a couple drive off a hill and into a river. What a stressful job! I’m amazed he stayed for as long as he did. After hearing his stories, I completely understand why he was so insistent that if we couldn’t follow his instructions or didn’t feel comfortable with the vehicle, to ride with a guide.

As a souvenir, they had us ride without guides to record us gliding through the water as if we had done this all day. Some had, I did not.
